Future? That is Irrelevant!

हतो वा प्राप्स्यसि स्वर्गं जित्वा वा भोक्ष्यसे महीम् |

तस्मादुत्तिष्ठ कौन्तेय युद्धाय कृतनिश्चय: || 2.37 “Either you die and attain the Heaven or you win (the battle) and enjoy the

earth”. The central idea here is that life

is full of uncertainties and Krishna is not in this business of telling you “Sab theek

ho jayega, beta”. He is not telling Arjuna, “Come now, you are the best in this business of war; let us get on with it and

you will win”. — No, he just

says two outcomes are possible and it does not matter which is realized. The

essence of it is to react as best as we can to the situation life has thrown at us. “Stop cribbing and deal with it” is the basic tone of the message!

Everyone wants to know the future: “Will I/my son/daughter

get married/wealthy ? Will I live looooong ? Will some misfortune fall on

my neighbour ? ” the list of such inessential

questions is endless. Inessential because the outcomes of these will make no real

difference to you — believe me, if you are in the habit of being anxious about the

future, you will always be, irrespective what happens to you.

Fortunately, Krishna is not in the business of predicting your future; he tells

you not to worry about trivialities like what will happen to you in future! So “Forget this anxiety about the future;

hustle in the present and the future will take care of itself — and accept what

comes”. ✨

Don’t stress the could haves,if it should have,it would have! 🧘🏻♂️
